Referral
Process

Navigating the referral and appointment process can seem daunting, but it’s easier when you know the steps.

Here’s a clear guide to help you through the process for Healthy Mind Solutions:

Visit Your GP:

o   Start by discussing your health concerns with your General Practitioner (GP). They will assess your situation and determine if a referral to Healthy Mind Solutions is the best step for you.

o   If your GP decides that a referral is required, they will usually send it directly to us. We suggest you also obtain a copy for your records.

o   Your GP will usually include a summary of your medical history and details about your current concerns to ensure we understand your needs.

Referral Review:

o   Once we receive your referral, our admin team will ensure the referral is valid & for a service we provide. If required, they may contact you or the referring GP for additional information.

o   After the admin review, the referral will be clinically reviewed by the appropriate clinician. This ensures the clinician feels confident that they can meet your needs.

Communication & Booking:

o   After the referral review, our admin team will contact you to inform you that the referral has been received and if it has been accepted. At this time, you are provided with further information about our services and fees applicable.

o   Where possible, our admin team will work with you to book an appointment or advise that you are being placed on a waitlist and provide an estimate of wait times.

o   If your referral cannot be accepted, our admin team sends a letter to your referring GP explaining why and recommends they refer you to another service provider.

Prepare for Your Appointment:

o   Our admin team will send you important information to read and forms to complete prior to your appointment.

o   Gather any reports or documents that may be useful for our clinician.

o   Be prepared to discuss your health and mental health history during your appointment. We understand that this can be difficult and confronting. However, we are here to support you and provide a safe, non-judgmental space.

o   Arrange a support person to come with you. They can either enter the appointment with you or remain in the waiting room.

We hope this guide helps you navigate the referral and appointment process smoothly. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact us.

Best wishes for your health and wellness Journey!
